BootcampIT – The intensive training program for programmers

Project Description



Step Ri Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka, with the support of the U.S. Embassy Zagreb, will organize BootcampIT – free three-month program of intensive training for programmers.

From March to June 2017 twenty participants will, with the help of experienced trainers and mentors, learn specific programming languages and basic entrepreneurial skills.

On the final Demo day participants will present their projects to representatives of Croatian IT companies – interested employers who seek programmers. The goal of BootcampIT is to help participants find employment after completion of the program.

Participation in BootcampIT is free for all participants who adhere to the terms and conditions of the contract, which will be signed before the start of the training program. By signing the contract, participants undertake regular attendance of the program and fulfillment of all tasks.

Who can apply?

Unemployed persons up to 29 years with basic computer skills and good knowledge of English language. Prior knowledge of programming is an advantage but not a requirement for application.

Selection process?

Those candidates that succeed to pass all rounds od he selection process will have the possibility to attend the program. The selection process consists of: review of the submitted documents (CV and application form) by the evaluation committee, test of logical thinking and a final interview. The final interview will be partially in English. The selection process will last from January 16th until February 24th 2017.

Duration of the program?

Total duration of the training program is 324 hours – 288 hours of training in programming skills (coding school and work on the project tasks with the support of mentors) and 36 hours of training in entrepreneurial skills. Coding school and work on project assignments will be held 3 times a week, and training in entrepreneurial skills 2 times a month – from beginning of March to the end of May 2017. BootcampIT will end with Demo day on June 16th 2017.

Where will it take place?

The selection process, the training in entrepreneurial skills and the Demo Day will be in Step Ri. The coding school and the development of the project assignments will be at the Centre of Technical Culture Rijeka.
